Belated, Merry Whatever!

First of all, I would like to apologize profusely for disappearing from the blogsphere for awhile, with no explanation.  My computer had needed to be repaired for quite some time, and it went into the shop just a few days before Christmas.  With that said, how was your Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanzaa/whatever holiday you may  celebrate this time of year?  I hope you all had a very merry...whatever!  Hahaha. I would like to share with you a few of my favorite Christmas presents!

1.  Q & A a Day: 5-Year Journal

I think many of my blogging friends would thoroughly enjoy this, considering it has to do with writing.  It asks you a different question every day for a year.  Then, once you finish off that year, you start answering the same questions you did last year.  That way you can really see how much you have changed in five years!

2.  Polly Pocket Rainy Day Dolls

What can I say?  I'm a kid at heart. ;)  Do not be afraid to act like a kid every once in awhile!  It is a major stress reliever!

3.  Snuggie (Camouflage of course!)  As much as I used to make fun of these things, they are actually very comfy and warm.  As much as I hate to admit it, the sleeves are useful too, especially when reading. :)

4.  Pitch Perfect  GREAT MOVIE!  And if you're a fan of either Bridesmaids or Glee, I definitely recommend it!

5.  Official Betsey Johnson Purse  When I visited Chicago, I fell in love with the Bestsey Johnson store they had there.  The only problem?  Everything there was too expensive for a poor, college kids like me.  Luckily, Betsey Johnson sells some items that are more affordable at places like JCP.  She has a line called "Betseyville".  I am already in love with this purse!

So, did you all get anything new and exciting this year?  Did you do anything special with your family or friends?  I hope all of you had someone to spend the holidays with!  I guess next I will be saying, "Happy New Year!"

Twas the End of the World Before Christmas

In my humble opinion, the world is NOT going to end on December 21, 2012.  I mean, how cruel would that be?  It is seventeen days until Christmas, and thirteen days until the world is supposedly going to end!!!  I will be very disappointed if the world ends four LOUSY, MEASLY, days before Christmas.  Don't get me wrong; I respect the opinions of anyone who does believe the world ends on December 21, 2012.  I just personally do not buy into the whole world ending fiasco, but I am no expert on it.  I genuinely hope the world does NOT end though.  There are so many things I want to do in life, and I have not had enough time in my short twenty years to do them all!  Besides, I've wasted a lot of money on Christmas gifts for the world to end before I get to give my loved ones any of their presents!  So, what do you all think?  Will the world end in 2012?

I Dream of Elfing

When I was a little girl, all I really wished for was to be one of Santa's elves.

I have never completely given up that wish.

Back then, I thought Santa Claus was the bomb diggity...and I still do!

Santa is like a cherry chubbin', jelly bowlin', chimney slidin', gift givin' bro!

How could anyone NOT want to be a part of that?

All I wanted was to help spread the Christmas cheer!

I guess not much has changed.  :)

Happy December!!!

Happy December, everyone - though it does not feel much like winter here in Southern Illinois!  The weather fluctuates day to day, and you never know whether the sun will be shining when you wake up, or whether the first winter blizzard will suddenly hit.  Anyway, since Christmas is quickly approaching, I thought it would be fun to start out the month with a list of Christmas books you should read!

1.
The Christmas Doll by Elvira Woodruff

2.  Olive, the Other Reindeer by Vivian Walsh, illustrated by J. Otto Siebold

3.  The Night Before Christmas by Clement C. Moore, illustrated by Mary Engelbreit

4.  Treasury of Christmas Tales by Susan Spellman

5.  A Very Lizzie Christmas by Lisa Papademitriou

6.  A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens

7.  The Biggest, Most Beautiful Christmas Tree by Amy Rosenberg

8.  The Little Match Girl by Hans Christian Andersen

9.  The Polar Express by Chris Van Allsburg

10.  A Charlie Brown Christmas by Charles M. Shulz

There you have it folks!  I believe that whether you are young or old, big or small, you will fall in love with more than one of the books on my list; you just have to take the time to read them!  Look forward to more Christmas posts to come...heck!  "This is the most wonderful time of the year!"  Now go snuggle with a blanket, a book, and read, read, READ!!!!!
