I'm Back...At Least I'm Trying

I realized something very depressing when I tried to go to my blog today.  I typed in the URL like usual...and it was not in my recent search history.  :(  I have not written now in over a month.  Please do not give up on me my blogging friends!  I love you all, and I hope you will have patience with me.  I have been very busy since the summer started.  On June 9th, I celebrated my one year anniversary with my boyfriend, Ryan.  I am also taking a night math class on Mondays and Wednesdays.  I have no excuses for not writing, but I just hope you can understand.  I haven't even been writing in my journal as much as I used to, but I plan to start up writing again.  It's good for me, and it's something I need to do for myself and you.  Please forgive me!

Love,
Molly

A Debt That Will Never be Paid

I have you in my hand, under my control
I left you out to dry - left you in the cold
Though I have good reasons, I wish you'd proved me wrong
At first you only fooled me - you've been this way all along

Maybe I taught you something, and for that I am not sad
I only wish I could forget, because I now consider you dead
I have all of these memories, and when I remember I can't help but be glad
I only wish it could have lasted - all those good times we had

I still see you now, and it's kind of bittersweet
Sweet because of the memories, bitter because you yanked them from under my feet
I have forgiven you, but that doesn't make me forget
It is still hard to look at you - to me, you will forever be in my debt

New Year's Resolutions?

This year, my boyfriend Ryan and I, tried to make a New Year's resolution to stop drinking soda.  It worked...until not too long after midnight.  Yes, that's right.  We broke it only a little while after the new year started.  So far, we both have consumed:  Ski, Sprite Zero, Coke, Mountain Dew, and Mellow Yellow.  Needless to say, we do not have much self discipline.  Maybe our New Year's resolution should have been to have more self discipline, rather than to stop drinking soda.

Anyway, I want to know:  what were your New Year's resolutions?  Have you kept them so far?  I hope you are all having a Happy New Year, even though it is just beginning!  I have a feeling this year will be a great year - I just know it.  I hope the same is true for you.  I know I have not written as much lately as usual, but I hope you can forgive me.  There will be a lot of exciting posts for you to read throughout this year!  I hope you all have a fantastic day, and the best year ever!  :)

My New Motto.

I am sorry for my lack of posting as of late. It's almost been a week, and I have honestly just not had that much inspiration. However, I did have just a spark of inspiration late yesterday night.  There has been one country song in particular lately that has really tickled my fancy. The song is called "Love Like Crazy" and is by Lee Brice. I want to share the video with you. So here it is!

One of my favorite verses out of the song is the one below in italics.

Just ask him how he did it; he'll say pull up a seat
It'll only take a minute, to tell you everything
Be a best friend, tell the truth, and overuse I love you
Go to work, do your best, don't outsmart your common sense
Never let your prayin' knees get lazy
And love like crazy

You may hate country. Heck, you may despise it! But there is one thing that you have to admit whether you are a country lover or not: we can all relate to that verse up above in one way or another. I think it is a great motto. I loved this song the first time I heard it, and I love it now. I know many people do not like country music, but I, myself, find it very easy to relate to. Maybe it's because I basically spent high school in a corn field. No matter the reason, I am in love with country music. I think we all want love in some way shape or form, and one of country music's general themes is love. I can't say I like all of the truly hicky woman by my side, beer in my hand country music. However, I do enjoy a great deal of country music.

Anyway, I really hope you liked the video, and please understand that I have just been lacking inspiration - I am not planning on quitting anytime soon. I promise I will write soon, so please forgive me for the past few days of nothingness! Let me know what you think of the video, song, or just anything in general! Hope you all have a wonderful day!

The Problem With Labels.

I found the picture above, and it really struck me as interesting. If you haven't already, read it carefully. A GENUINELY FAKE watch?! Well, I'll put that one on my Christmas list for sure!
Chances are, if that sign did not say that the watches were actually fake, people who were not that educated about watches might buy a watch, thinking that it is genuine. People might be confused when they first see this sign, but hopefully they will figure out what it means after a minute or two. THE WATCHES ARE FAKE! *Gasp!!!!!* It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that one out.
Think about it. What if everyone had a sign hanging on their chest that revealed a secret about them? Sure, your mama might have told you not to judge a book by it's cover, but honestly, haven't we all at some point?
Like the Bible in Matthew 7:3 says, "Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?" That is a really good question. We get upset at people for judging as, but we continue to judge other people. Of course, it's natural. We are only human, though we should always try to show less judgment for those around us. That doesn't mean we should totally ignore people's flaws, but we should forgive them.
Yes, a good number of cheaters will still cheat, liars will still lie, and abusers will still abuse. However, the ones who actually do change will most likely still be cast out of society. They will still have that label for doing whatever it is that they did in the past. It is true; we deserve to know what they did for our own safety. The one thing that we need to remember though, is that we are all human. We all have made mistakes. We all have wronged someone. We all have had to put up with the consequences of our actions in one way or another, and we ALL have the ability to change. So despite our differences, we all have that one little thing in common, if nothing else.
We aren't really all that different than the watches really. Humans are constantly trying to overcome the negative labels that society has cast upon us. Maybe it is time to stop labeling so much, and start listening.

Forgiveness & Truth.

I have a favorite quote that I have wanted to share with you for a very long time, but I have never been able to finish anything I have tried to write on it. Now, I think I might finally be ready. It is about a topic that is very near and dear to me: forgiveness.

"Sincere forgiveness isn't colored with expectations that the other person apologize or change. Don't worry whether or not they finally understand you. Love them and release them. Life feeds back truth to people in its own way and time." -Sara Paddison.

Forgiveness is a very meaningful word to me. It is one of the most important actions someone can do to maintain any kind of relationship. Forgiving someone is about love. It is about believing in your heart that you still love a person even if they betrayed you, failed you, or hurt you in any way.

Sometimes your forgiveness is willingly accepted, but other times it is not. When your gift of forgiveness to someone is denied, then it can be one of the hardest life lessons to learn. It can be absolutely devastating to a person.

However, if you dwell on the gift that they will not accept, then you will become bitter again. You will become bitter because they will not accept the forgiveness that you give them, so in turn you will be unforgiving of them not accepting your forgiveness. How confusing is that? It is something that seems absolutely ridiculous! It is absolutely ridiculous!

Why do we as humans worry about the things in which we cannot change? I know I do it. It is one of my bad habits. It is kind of like wanting something you can't have. It seems that people always want the one thing that they cannot have when the world offers them so much more!

If we expect nothing and get nothing, then we will never be let down. In contrast if we expect everything and get nothing, then we will certainly be let down. So why not try and focus on expecting nothing? That way, if we do get something we will be absolutely overjoyed!

Sometimes we just have to let go of what we love, and if it is really meant to come back it will. If it is not meant to be, then so be it. If we get nothing else in return we will at least know the truth when it is ready to reveal itself to us.

Forgiveness: The Only Thing We Have Left.

How is it that something can be good and bad for you at the same time? Maybe you can't understand it until you experience it. It is like being colorblind your whole life, and then waking up one day to realize that you can see colors.
It is true that some things in life are black and white, but then again, some things aren't. There is a world full of colors out there; you just have to open up your eyes wide enough to see them.
Maybe a person you thought you knew turns out differently than you expected. Maybe they have done something and you just don't know what to make of it.
However, in this world full of colors, shouldn't we all be given a second chance? Wouldn't you want to be? If nothing else, if we cannot do it for the sake of the other person, can't we at least do it for ourselves?
Sometimes forgiveness is the only thing we have left.

The Inspiration: Hypothetical Coffee.

As some of my friends know, I used to blog on myspace. I used to publish my creative articles there before I made this blog. Well, I just thought people might like to read the myspace post that actually inspired the name of my blog, "Hope, Fate, and and a Little Hypothetical Coffee..." It was something I wrote at a time when so many things felt like they were changing. It was called, "Maybe it’s time to wake up and smell the hypothetical coffee. " So without any further hoopla, please enjoy!

Maybe it’s time to wake up and smell the hypothetical coffee.

It is March 2, 2008. I am sitting here. Thinking. Like always...
Obviously I'm a thinker...I'm pretty insightful at times. However lately it seems like I've been having more trouble with understanding situations. It's not just one or two; it's a multiple kind of thing.

There are so many changes going on right now, and natural instincts of course tell me to hold on. Holding on isn't always an option. Holding on isn't always the way to go. Holding on sometimes is just plain old, plain old not available whatsoever. I need to wake up, smell the coffee and realize this. It isn't just me though; numerous people need to wake up and smell the hypothetical coffee of life. Call me deep. Call me absurd. Call me absolutely insane. The main point of it is still true.

Opportunities are not taken so often. How many people have told you this? Well, maybe it's time to listen to them. Maybe it's time to forgive and forget. Or maybe it's time to apologize. Maybe it's time to open up to someone. Maybe it's time for time. Maybe it's time to simply relax, and live. Life is something that can either be a wasted opportunity or a miraculous experience that will mean so much. Realize what you need to do at this taken for granted time like so many people don't.
Do it before the chance escapes you...
